01. Clean out windows\temp
02. Check _Restore on ME Only
03. Run Wintop and look for rouge processes
04. Run IE cache manager
05. Run Ad-Aware
06. Run Spybot
07. Run coolwebshredder
08. Run Hijackthis
09. Update and run Antivirus
10. Remove Swap Space
11. Re-Create Swap Space at 256megs
12. Defrag (Norton if have time)
Windows 2k/XP
- Run CCleaner to clean up extra space
- Examine Process Manager for rouge processes
- Run Ad-Aware
- Run Spybot
- Run Hijackthis
- Update and run Antivirus
CCleaner
go to www.ccleaner.com and download the CCleaner, install and run it.
This will scan your system and clean up extra your system space.
When installing uncheck the boxes except for the 2 middle ones which put it on the recycle bin menu.
Once installed right-click on the recycle bin and click on 'open ccleaner' then click on 'run cleaner'
